Site, Business, OR Functional Area Overview
This role sits within our Field Services and Maintenance organization, supporting military customers operating the F101 and F118 propulsion systems. The position is primarily based at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, with roving support to additional customer locations including Tinker AFB (Oklahoma City, OK), Whiteman AFB (MO), and Ellsworth AFB (SD).
The team provides on-site technical expertise and customer support for engine operation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities, serving as the direct connection between the customer and GE Aerospace’s engineering, supply chain, and program teams.
Role Overview
The **F101/F118 Military Field Service Representative (FSR)**provides on-site and roving technical assistance to military organizations operating F101 and F118 propulsion systems, supporting both customer mission readiness and business objectives.
As the primary GE interface
at Dyess AFB and other supported locations, you will: - Act as thesingle point of contact for technical, maintenance, and support issues related to F101 and F118 engines
- Support the operation, management, repair, maintenance, and overhaul of these propulsion systems
- Coordinate closely with GE factory and functional teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and fulfillment of contract deliverables
This is a full-time, first-shift, on-site field role with travel to multiple customer bases as required.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Interface & Issue Resolution
Serve as the single point of contact for the customer regarding maintenance, repair, and management of the F101 engine at the primary location and the F118 engine at roving locations.Provide timely and satisfactory resolution of customer concerns across a wide range of support issues, ensuring both mission readiness and customer satisfaction.Establish and maintain strong customer relationships, providing ongoing technical and business support to assigned military organizations.
Technical Support & Product Expertise
Utilize in-depth knowledge of F101/F118 product lines, configurations, and installation environments to advise on operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. Apply analytical thinking and technical experience to execute on contract deliverables, including complex maintenance and troubleshooting processes. Demonstrate proficiency in repair, modification, shop operations, and testing of assigned propulsion system hardware.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Leadership
Coordinate directly with internal GE functions (engineering, program management, supply chain, quality) to escalate and resolve issues on behalf of the customer. Act as a resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with low risk and resource requirements. Use sound judgment to propose solutions outside of set parameters when addressing complex or interdependent technical issues.
Communication, Training & Continuous Improvement
Prepare and deliver formal presentations and briefings to all levels of customer maintenance, engineering, and management.Transfer technical knowledge to customer and GE personnel by leveraging knowledge of the learning process and effective training techniques. Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives by identifying recurring issues and recommending corrective actions or process improvements.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a field service / maintenance role as a Military Field Service Representative

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of field maintenance, modification, and repair experience on propulsion system products
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel as required to customer and GE locations
- Ability and willingness to complete customer-required background checks
- Ability and willingness to relocate to domestic or international locations to support business needs, if required
- Ability and willingness to successfully complete all requirements for domestic and international customer assignments
