We’re producing High Pressure Turbine Blades that help power tomorrow’s commercial and military aircraft. We’re using innovative production methodologies including complex machining, special processes, and NDT. By engaging with highly collaborative teams, we’re out to continuously improve our performance by delivering quality products, on-time to customers.
As the Manufacturing Engineer for the weekend shift at our Piedmont, SC site, you will perform engineering associated with the manufacturing process and make a lasting impact on the operations of the plant by enabling manufacturing uptime, cost reduction, and increased product quality. Your contributions will range from creating and developing processes, to problem solving process related issues, to learning new technologies to lead continuous improvement within our manufacturing processes.
This position will support our weekend shift with standard days of Friday, Saturday, Sunday for 12 hours per day. This role will require up to 10% travel.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop in-depth expertise to become subject matter expert of assigned processes
- Coordinate the design, development and implementation of programs according to the drawing and specification requirements
- Responsible for machinery selection along with development or improvement concepts
- Drive the qualification of new equipment
- Design and develop new processes to support new product introductions
- Drive efforts to support and meet production schedules, including safety, quality, and delivery
- Utilize Lean principles and participate in action workouts to improve product cost, throughput and quality
- Display a dedicated, team-oriented work ethic with personal ownership while having a goal-focused mindset
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience)
- At least an additional 3 years of manufacturing experience
Desired Characteristics:
- Must be willing to work standard Friday, Saturday and Sunday weekend shift, 12 hours per day
- Knowledge of creep feed grind machining in a manufacturing environment
- Prior process / manufacturing knowledge of high-pressure turbine blade manufacturing
- Hands-on shop floor experience with experience providing technical direction
- Experience analyzing and resolving problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
