Job Description Summary
The Lead Fluid system engineer is responsible of product improvement and field issues resolution of fuel, oil and air components (starters, pump, heat exchanger, filters, valves, etc.) for aviation engine applications. Also, is responsible for Identify, develop, evaluate, design, define testing, review manufacturing and coordinate product life management with supplier of new product and solve filed issues to meet short-term and long-term needs for commercial aircraft application.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include hydro-mechanical design for all products.
- Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- Assure that proper documentation of technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies, processes and/or systems is consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments. Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews.
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- Lead the solution of complex technical problems. Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
- Concurrently work on multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring schedule requirements are met
- Provides informal guidance to new team members
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering related field (aeronautical, mechanical, mechatronic, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience resolving complex engineering issues including root cause, testing, analysis and fixes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across programs.
- Experience leading presentations of technical issues to Senior Experts and internal customers.
- Experience identifying, proposing and executing fleet/field related cost avoidance projects.
- Effective written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English on any topic with few mistakes (mistakes that do not affect clear understanding). Must have fluency, rhythm, and sufficient self-confidence in the language to be able to handle meetings and conversations.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience interpreting, defining and updating engine and airframer maintenance procedures/manuals.
- Experience working FAA/ Certification requirements
- Experience as product engineer.
