Job Description Summary

The GE Aerospace Defense and Systems Edison Engineering Development Programme (EEDP) is an IET-accredited, two-year rotational graduate programme for early-career engineers who are passionate about technology, committed to technical excellence, and motivated to deliver against GE Aerospace’s Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost priorities. The programme accelerates development through hands-on project experience, structured technical and leadership training, and meaningful ownership of business-critical aerospace systems work.Participants complete rotations across GE Aerospace sites in Warsaw, Poland and Cheltenham, UK, culminating in an off-programme role based in Warsaw, Poland.

Edison Engineering Development Programme Details

Edison is a distinctive early-career programme that combines structured learning with hands-on experience across the full engineering lifecycle. Through real projects aligned to GE Aerospace Defense and Systems priorities, participants see how concepts become delivered capability; working with global teams and other programme members across GE Aerospace.

Edison offers a collaborative,supportive community with strong team ethos, meaningful visibility to senior leaders, and a clear pathway to build technical depth, professional confidence, and long-term career momentum.

Programme Highlights:

  • Two/Three technical rotations on business-critical programmes(potentially in **Systems and Software Engineering)**contributing to the design, development, and delivery of Power Distribution,Avionics Networking, and Cockpit Displays products.
  • GE Aerospace Foundations Training weeks alongside other GE Aerospace leadership programme members.
  • Advanced capability building

through Edison A-Course and B-Course: weekly technical classes, workshops, formal reports, and presentations; strengtheningtechnical problem-solving and time management.

  • Leadership exposure with opportunities to meet, collaborate with, and present to senior GE Aerospace leaders.
  • Professional skills development including teamwork, leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, and self/others awareness.
  • STEM outreach opportunities, with the chance to play an active role in supporting and delivering STEM education initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree: Minimum 2:1 accredited Bachelor’s or a Master’s in Systems or Software Engineering (or a closely related discipline)
  • Experience: Placement, internship, or work experience in aerospace or another similarly controlled/regulated environment
  • Teamwork: Experience contributing within an engineering team
  • Problem solving: Analytical, collaborative approach to delivering outcomes
  • Motivation: Clear commitment to a technology/engineering career and ongoing learning
  • Business awareness: Understanding of GE Aerospace Defense and Systems and its products
  • Continued Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to CPD
  • Languages: Fluent written and spoken English and Polish
  • Mobility: Flexibility to complete a rotation at the GE Aerospace facility in Cheltenham, UK for a period of 8-12 months within the 2 years of the graduate programme
