Job Description Summary

The Lead Sourcing Specialist will work closely with assigned Sourcing Manager and business as the local owner for assigned segments of indirect Sourcing. These responsibilities include the execution of strategies to ensure realization of the business objectives specific to Indirect Sourcing responsibilities. They will be the primary source of contact for leading large RFQs related to indirect and Capex commodities for own assigned regions/countries to reach deflation targets. He/She/They will also drive usage reduction initiatives within indirect commodities. These responsibilities include the execution of strategies to ensure realization of the business objectives specific to Indirect Sourcing responsibilities aligning with Grid Indirect Sourcing leaders, Business Commodity Leaders and GEV Category Team.

Your Tasks

• Proactively lead the deployment of the global and local indirect sourcing and CAPEX strategies at site level to meet overall deflation and productivity objectives. Fully accountable for successfully meeting deflation, cash and usage targets for assigned location.
• Execute regional cost reduction projects that support the global projects through contract negotiation, process changes and implementation of sustainable cost controls, including collaboration with Finance to validate the impact of projects to the general ledger and their reporting through assigned reporting tools.
• Anticipate Capex involvement and ensure the resource's integration with the investment team and pipeline.
• Strengthen collaboration across the indirect team, commodity leaders strategy, ensuring seamless interaction and integration with teams.
• Drive use of GE Preferred Suppliers and work with Business Sourcing/ Category Management teams to communicate demand for goods or services not currently addressed by GE Preferred Suppliers.
• Manage and actively support tactical execution of projects, escalations due to delivery, quality issues, invoicing issues, supplier database management, improve payment terms, assist internal customers with SOW development through to PO execution (as necessary).
• Enforce business policies to meet business targets and customer needs, including improving procurement processes and optimizing Sourcing resources to enhance the customer experience with Sourcing.
• Engage with GE GRID and GEV Central Indirect Sourcing Organization and Local Business leaders to leverage volume and combine strategies on deflation and cash improvements for all suppliers.
• Building up metrics related to Spend, Savings, Suppliers and Cash and contribute to reach excellence of metrics.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering or Technical Degree from an accredited university or college
• Experience in Sourcing/Procurement/Purchasing
• Extensive experience in Indirect and Capex Commodities
• Preferred experience in Quality, or Manufacturing environments
• Strong customer service and results oriented mindset
• Good knowledge of SAP
• Broad competence in sourcing analyses, data mindset
• Ideally, experience with SRM tools (Tungsten, Oscar, Supplier Connect)
• Proficient in Office Package (Excel, Power Point)
• Independent, structured working method and excellent communication skills
• Resilient, flexible, team player and committed
• Language skills: proficient in German and English
