About the Role
As a Global Truck Product Planning & Strategy Supervisor within our Truck Portfolio team, you will play a crucial supporting role in shaping the future of our Global Truck strategies. You will contribute to defining market opportunities and executing winning strategies, actively participating in the Cycle Plan process and assisting with key business case developments for program milestones. This role involves supporting high-priority strategic studies, facilitating program gateway navigation, and collaborating across global and regional teams to ensure alignment on product priorities. You will also help drive program efficiencies through a customer-focused approach and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment that champions Ford OS Behaviours.
Reporting to the Global Truck Product Planning & Strategy Manager, this role will be based at our IMGPDC office on a hybrid schedule (four days in-office). Please note some international travel may be required.
Strategic Strategy Development: Lead the development of comprehensive product and business strategies for the Global Truck platform and its derivatives (Ranger and Everest) to ensure competitive alignment with global customer needs and market trends.
Cross-Functional Stakeholder Engagement: Drive alignment across all Global Business Units and Partners, managing strategic workstreams for the Mid-Size Pickup (MSPU) and SUV segments to ensure unified execution.
Program Milestone Leadership: Direct Pre-Program Steering () activities, including the delivery of robust product assumptions, planning deliverables, and the facilitation of the global management approval process.
Product Lifecycle & Content Management: Define and maintain vehicle content for new models and product freshening, ensuring all changes are coordinated across global derivatives while considering the needs of all business partners.
Regulatory & Technical Integration: Oversee the integration of global regulations, corporate policies (including emissions and fuel economy), and emerging technologies into the Global Truck platform roadmap.
Resource & Conflict Resolution: Identify critical resource requirements and facilitate the resolution of global planning incompatibilities through consensus-based decision-making and transparent communication.
Financial & Cycle Planning Excellence: Deliver platform requirements for annual business planning, cycle planning, and budget development, providing sophisticated "what-if" analyses and alternative product assumptions as required.
Competitive Intelligence & Growth: Conduct SWOT analyses and special business studies on manufacturing, sourcing, and market alternatives to identify growth opportunities, improve profitability, and build organizational capability.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or an equivalent technical field is a minimum requirement.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in product planning, strategy, or product development within the automotive industry.
Strategic & Business Acumen: Demonstrated experience as a strategic thinker, capable of developing and effectively communicating strategic direction. Strong financial acumen is essential for business case development.
Product Development Expertise: Proven experience leading cycle plan studies and navigating complex product gateways. Familiarity with vehicle and platform architecture development processes, including balancing technical and business considerations, is required.
Customer Focus: Familiarity with Human-Centered Design principles and a demonstrated passion for understanding and serving the customer.
Process Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Product Development Processes and deliverables.
Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams at all employee levels, from technical personnel to Ford Senior Management.
Agility & Drive: A fast learner who adapts easily, works well under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Must possess the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and deliver high-quality results.
