The Director – Tech@Lilly India will lead all aspects of people, process, portfolio and technology delivery from Lilly Bengaluru covering strategy, tactical and execution for GRA (Global Regulatory Affairs) Tech and GSC (Global Scientific Communications) Tech, thereby enabling us to shift our focus on enhancing and scaling AI products (GRA and GSC portfolios) to double output, cut submission time, deliver our commitments on productivity. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that Tech@Lilly India is strongly positioned to manage end to end capabilities, scale existing services, deliver key strategic initiatives and to strategize, propose, develop and operationalize the new capabilities and services with a high degree of consistency, security, quality compliance, and scalability.
This leader should be strategic both from technical and capability, product standpoint. Should be bold to bring the right issues for discussions with the leader of the function and should span their contributions across Tech function. Should have a strong technical knowhow including architecture, exposure to multiple products and capabilities, exposure to multiple tech stack and its implementations along with good understanding of the domain.

Accelerate Tech Innovation Pipeline
Lead Technology strategy and digital transformation for Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) and Global Scientific Communications (GSC) portfolios. Drive end-to-end ownership of mission-critical platforms accelerating regulatory submissions and scientific evidence generation for life-changing medicines.

Act as a Leader ensure governance, process, shared consciouness and compliance consistency across the various service areas and to influence / shape the broader Tech agenda for GRA and GSC.

Contribute to the strategy and roadmap of Tech Org and key investment programs that are aligned to the strategic priorities of the information officer’s office. Unlock the Power of AI across Tech. Ensure delivery excellence across portfolios following the model “Outcome over Ownership”

In partnership with global team, define and deliver on a multi-year strategy and capability roadmap of key investment programs that are aligned to the global strategic priorities.

Etsblish strong product teams and engineering capability teams across Tech that would operate seamless accelerating delivery and creating technical assets. Bring best in class delivery, strategy and engineering KPIs for key investment programs across the Org.

Drive Tech strategy, get command in global forums, and demonstrate readiness for strategic decisions. Challenge in different forums to have a healthy debate and discussion as to what is the right strategy for Tech org.

Continue the focus on Innovation in all dimensions – radical, scientific, sci-tech, technology, incremental, architecture, etc. Continue to establish strong working partnership with business partners.

Act as a role model to ensure governance, process and compliance consistency across the various product and technology capability areas. Also, be a role model for driving culture of high integrity and performance coupled with strong domain context and robust collaboration across global teams and stakeholders. Focus on strong leadership hiring and grooming the next level of leaders.

Deliver a united communication strategy with a view to enhancing employee engagement and morale. Provide coaching and mentorship to enhance the team’s ongoing technical development and understanding of technologies, services, capabilities, quality and security compliance standards, and methodologies.

Provide supervision / people management. Partner with architects, technologists, and service area leadership to establish and execute against an ongoing engineering excellence program focusing on continuous improvement.

Demonstrate “Impact Player behavior” all the time. Champion and drive tech enabled innovation and transformation to sustain and increase Lilly’s lead in the market.
Required Experience:
Strong background and breadth of Tech experience across technical domains. Pharma and lifesciences experience will be an added advantage.
Experience with systems development life cycle and structured programming methods (both traditional and agile).
Solid experience in implementing new age technologies including Cloud Computing (ex: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), Custom Software Development, SaaS, Testing and Technology Operations and Maintenance. Working knowledge of Agile, DevOps, MLOps, Dev SecOPs, ITIL & ITSM is mandatory.
Ability to drive partnership between multiple geographically separate organizations, groups and business partners to scale existing IT services as well as deliver new enterprize class services
Experience leading a team of enterprise class technologists designing and delivering new IT services leveraging modern cloud platforms and patterns. Proven experience in building IT strategies and services to meet critical business requirements
Ability to communicate proactively, and manage and influence a diverse set of IT and business stakeholders in a geographically distributed organization. Ability to appropriately and effectively challenge to reduce complexity of strategies and solutions
Essential Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build professional networks with diverse groups of individuals and to work effectively within geographically dispersed teams and partners.
Requires technical knowledge, cross functional leadership, and understanding of how own business area interacts with other business areas to achieve functional objectives. Focus on shared learning and best practices. Experience across a broad range of Tech domains, including experience in software development, experience in cloud-based data services, cloud-basd infrastructure services and patterns. Possess a positive and energetic attitude, with a view to moving the business forward. Strong self-management and ability to work in ambiguity. High on integrity and drive culture of high integrity and performance with a mindset of robust collaboration across India and global teams and stakeholders.
