Position Brand Description:

The Engineering Sr. Manager is responsible for setting strategies and objectives for their area within Indy Device Assembly and Packaging (IDAP). The Team Leader supervises day to day engineering activities and manages the team’s technical capacity roadmap and frontline engineering escalation. The Team Leader is responsible for developing employees as necessary to meet business requirements.

Key Objectives / Deliverables:

Safety

  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing and following HSE policies and ergonomic environment within process team
  • Actively participate in safety-related activities (audits, JSA’s, hazard reviews, etc.) to drive ongoing safety improvement
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (gloves, steel toed shoes, safety glasses) as required by local procedures and the activity being performed
  • Understand safe operation of the equipment within the area

Functional

  • Develop, mentor, coach, and recognize employees within their organization
  • Develop local processes and procedures in accordance with the FUME system
  • Use and encourage Lean tools to achieve success
  • Understand and influence the manufacturing control strategy for their area

Fundamental Deliverables

  • Remove barriers that impact team performance
  • Provide technical input / support, as required
  • Meet the requirements of the FUME System through execution of local processes and procedures
  • Track team performance in executing and completing objectives
  • Ensure proper resources and tools are in place to execute team objectives
  • Prioritize the team’s time and task execution based on impact to business needs

Site Expectations:

  • Develop and maintain the team’s technical capacity roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Staff the team with personnel capable of meeting business needs and objectives
  • Act as role model in demonstrating Lilly’s core values

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience (preferred GMP experience).
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.

  • Recognized strong team leadership skills
  • Technical competence in area of responsibility
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (both oral and written)
  • Strong talent development skills, especially coaching and people development
  • Solid regulatory compliance knowledge (GMP, OSHA, etc.)
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely, and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Established network across Lilly functional community
  • Previous supervisory / leadership experience

Other Information:

  • 8 hour days, after-hour and weekend support, as needed
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$99,000 - $145,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
