Job Summary

This position reports to the Stores supervisor and shall assist in the operation of the storeroom. The ASK is expected to achieve effective performance and control of the receiving, shipping, storing, transferring, cycle counting, and issuing of parts and materials. Other duties include but are not limited to recording all transactions, loading, unloading, and transporting parts, material and equipment. The ASK must demonstrate the ability to progress to the Storekeeper position. The ASK’s progress will be measured by meeting the qualification requirements as outlined in the Stores Development Manual. Position has call-out responsibilities and must be available to work all hours as needed, day or night, weekends, or holidays, and in all weather conditions. Requires ability to travel and stay overnight to various locations.

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, in alignment with Duke Energy standards & procedures.

  • Ability to hold themselves, and others, accountable for safe and effective delivery of products & services.

  • Must be qualified to operate a forklift or ability to become qualified.

  • Must have the ability to record and conduct basic mathematics.

  • Able to effectively use technological tools and systems specific to the job.

Desired Qualifications

  • Warehouse experience

  • Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS)

  • Basic computer skills

  • Attention to detail

Physical

  • Works inside warehouse and outside yard environment including all weather conditions and possibly extreme temperatures.

  • Work hours subject to change, based on customer needs.

  • Overtime and emergency call-out requirements.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, pulling, climbing ladders, etc.

Working Conditions

  • Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a company facility.

  • 7am - 3:30pm Monday-Friday

  • Position has call-out responsibilities and must be available to work all hours as needed, day or night, weekends, or holidays, and in all weather conditions.

  • Requires ability to travel and stay overnight to various locations.
