Operational Responsibilities:
As a Lease Operator, the focus remains on conducting operational assessments of assigned wells, equipment, and plant facilities, ensuring the submission of daily assessment reports on well production, equipment performance, and maintenance activities. The role involves executing production tests, performing minor repairs, and ensuring general upkeep (fences, signs, weeds, trash) and maintenance of an organized work environment at lease sites. The operator performs regular monitoring of control panels, gauges, and meters to ensure proper equipment functioning and leads the setup and installation of new equipment as required.
Compliance and Safety:
The operator maintains positive relationships with local, state, and federal representatives, contractors, and surface owners, providing field-wide contact with all personnel in the event of an emergency or other significant occurrences. The operator ensures the maintenance of all company equipment, including computers, vehicles, and analysis or test equipment, and represents the company in the delivery/receipt of materials and equipment. The role includes maintaining regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close coordination with the Operations Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, and the Environmental Health and Safety Department. The operator actively participates in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in lease site operations, reports incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly to supervisors, and participates in incident investigations.
Technical Skills:
The operator reviews operating parameters recorded into systems if SCADA is unavailable, develops an understanding of operational issues at lease sites, and collaborates with maintenance teams to implement timely and effective solutions. The role involves demonstrating proficiency in Prod View, Eagle app, Cygnet, and Pi, ensuring SOPs are followed, prioritizing projects, demonstrating a strong understanding of the importance of safety and regulatory compliance (especially around emissions and spills), and making recommendations for the optimization of lease site operations. The operator recognizes, analyzes, and resolves complex problems at lease sites, taking corrective action in emergency and non-emergency situations, contributing to operational efficiency and safety.
Education:
- High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education is required.
Experience:
- 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P Operations
