The Field Service Engineer, JAPAC is responsible for delivering the introduction of highly complex new equipment and its troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair services and etc. This position is also required the capability to standardize that experience broadly across the organization, ultimately serving as a team leader.

This position reports to General Manager, Japan and is part of the JAPAC Service Team located in Tokyo, Japan and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Launching new products and fostering cross‑regional, cross‑team collaboration

• Perform installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs for Molecular Devices new instruments

• Experiencing business growth firsthand and building a structure that supports further expansion

The essential requirements of the job include:

• A minimum of 10 years of field service engineering experience across the countries

• Proven experience in project‑driven equipment installation and maintenance

• English ability to communicate at global meeting and to deal with global clients

• Professional experience in the life sciences sector or comparable industries such as laboratory equipment, medical device, or semiconductor

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a closely related discipline

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel across Japan and APAC region

• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

• Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 20 kg.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Servicing or supporting laboratory instruments used with biological samples, cell‑based assays, or analytical workflows in research or pharmaceutical environments.
