The **Finance Director, Latin America (LATAM)**is responsible for the finance business partner for the Commercial Leader LATAM; and local business leaders. Incumbent in this position will work independently and take full ownership of the region’s finance functions including financial planning & analysis, accounting and financial compliance. As the key driver of finance excellence, incumbent will champion new initiatives, improvement projects, and support the business leaders in the growth and profitability strategic initiatives.
This position reports to the VP, Global Commercial Finance and is part of the Commercial Finance team located in Brazil and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Support LATAM region in achieving the Revenue, Gross Margins, Operating Profit and Working Capital objectives and keeping in mind maintaining integrity to Danaher's Core Value Drivers
- Guide and drive the LATAM finance team with respect to budgeting, financial analysis, accounting and compliance.
- Review, evaluate and approve deal profitability analysis of the countries considering, profitability, proper revenue recognition and acceptable cash follow
- Influences key business decisions based on financial indicators and serves as the finance expert & advisor for critical business projects including new business and investment opportunities, M&A projects, etc. Provides overall budgeting and financial analysis with clear insights and decisions to support corporate initiatives and regional growth.
- Leads team to improve business processes and business support. Ability to drive OP improvement initiatives with the Regional leadership team. Takes initiative and partners with various functions in the organization to resolve issues, enhance systems, business processes as well as integrating research, information, and trends into solutions leveraging specific DBS tools such as daily management, standard work, and problem solving to drive fact-based decision making and process improvements
- Follow US GAAP on accounting and revenue recognition and support especially decentralized countries with the relevant guidance
- Oversee operating profit and working capital performance (especially DSO and bad debt) and drive team accountability towards objectives with the key stakeholders
The essential requirements of the job include:
- University, bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 10 years of relevant work experience, or a master’s degree with 8 years of relevant work experience. Professional experience in similar roles in a complex and dynamic environment with a strong track record in business partnership, financial management, accounting, compliance and FP&A.
- Minimum 7 years of managing people.
- Good practical experience and conceptual knowledge of ERP, financial consolidation and financial reporting systems and processes. PowerBI knowledge preferred.
- Knowledge of US GAAP, local statutory reporting and local taxes requirements in the region.
- Ability to interact with senior management with the capability to present and explain financial data and analysis to both finance and non-finance audiences in a clear and concise manner. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Must have excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills to interact at every level in the organization with ability to influence
- Prior experience leading a large, geographically dispersed workforce, including remote managers and direct reports.
- Fluent in Spanish/Portuguese and English, both spoken and written, with any other language being a plus
