Workflow & Informatics Consultant (TLA / LIS / Automation) — Beckman Coulter Diagnostics

At Danaher, we build solutions that help labs move faster, operate smarter, and deliver results clinicians can trust. In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of laboratory operations, informatics, automation, and customer value—translating real workflow pain points into scalable Total Lab Automation (TLA) and informatics solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Act as a workflow and informatics subject matter expert across clinical labs, connecting operational needs with platform capabilities (analytics pre-/post-analytics sample/data flow) to enable end-to-end lab solutions.

  • Partner with customers to understand current-state workflows and constraints, then design a future-state model using Lean and workflow engineering methods.

  • Lead lab assessment activities including:

  • Customer expectations and success criteria

  • Workflow mapping, lab volumes, and operational bottlenecks

  • Current vs. future state design grounded in Lean Six Sigma best practices

  • Deliver workflow consulting outputs and recommendations, including:

  • Laboratory process maps and visualizations (Value Stream Maps, Spaghetti diagrams, 5S walk findings)

  • Layout documentation and future layout proposals

  • Simulation-driven recommendations (e.g., turnaround time (TAT) simulation)

  • Create and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to support selling and delivery for medium to large healthcare providers, using tools such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and AutoCAD.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers—ensuring the solution is competitive, measurable, and aligned to clinical/operational goals.

  • Build and maintain a customer-facing best practices library for Automation/IT, including shareable rules libraries and automation metrics.

  • Provide product presentations, demonstrations, and end-user trainings/workshops.

  • Participate in key customer meetings focused on TLA and Beckman Coulter solutions, supporting data collection, discovery, and solution alignment.

  • Provide consulting support for informatics solution products (LIS/IT integration and workflow enablement).

  • Work directly with sales and service teams to develop project plans that deliver the agreed solution on time and within budget.

  • Own execution: manage project tasks, risks, and dependencies, including direct and matrixed resources as required.

What you bring

  • Familiarity with healthcare integration standards (ASTM, HL7, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of clinical lab environments, customer workflows, and the critical components of a Laboratory Information System (LIS).

  • Ability to troubleshoot, consult, and drive resolution—balancing technical depth with operational practicality.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate requirements across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Solid technical foundation across: Microsoft Windows, SQL, networking, and security concepts.

  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and customer-facing consulting skills, with the ability to run discovery sessions and influence outcomes.

  • A self-driven “can-do” mindset with the ability to execute with limited day-to-day direction.

  • Strong internal and external networking capability; able to build long-term relationships and credibility quickly.

  • Awareness of laboratory accreditation expectations and evolving policies/technology that shape lab operations.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Sciences, Informatics, Biomedical, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the IVD industry; consultancy solution selling experience is strongly preferred.

  • 1–2 years of LIS consulting, technical support, or process management experience.

  • Demonstrated experience tailoring solutions, tactics, and strategies to support account acquisition and growth within clinical/hospital lab environments.

Join our winning team today. Together, we’ll accelerate the real-life impact of tomorrow’s science and technology. We partner with customers across the globe to help them solve their most complex challenges, architecting solutions that bring the power of science to life.
