As part of our Manufacturing Technology Engineering (MTE) organization, our Solution Development Center team develops, implements and supports automation solutions for our tire plants worldwide.

By joining the Support & Consulting team, you will be responsible for the roll-out and support of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions in manufacturing areas of tire production in all 20 Continental Tire plants around the world.

You will be part of a motivated engineering team supporting digitalization and Industry 4.0 projects and activities on global scale.

Key responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of services which interact directly with PLCs;
  • Develop and implement software PLC to integrate different machine type;
  • Development and maintenance of OPC UA configuration files;
  • Analysis of PLC programs (Beckhoff, Siemens, Allen-Bradley) to prepare integration with IT solutions using OPC UA;
  • Provide 2nd level support, ensuring the continuous availability of the solutions developed;
  • Remote and occasional on-site support of 20 tire plants (Europe, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Malaysia, Thailand,…).

  • Academic degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or other related qualification;

  • +2 years of professional experience as an automation engineer (preferably Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff or similar);

  • Experience with OPC UA;

  • Proficient English language skills (verbal and written);

  • Independent and solution-oriented mindset;

  • Reliable team player with structured workstyle, focused on continuous learning;

  • Willingness to travel worldwide (up to 20%).
