  • Act as a key contact for internal and external audits, including SOX, EOPS, and regulatory audits related to oilsands royalties and revenue

  • Prepare and review regulatory submissions, royalty filings, and supporting documentation for Alberta Energy and other authorities

  • Analyze the financial impact of royalty regime changes, audit findings, and regulatory interpretations on revenue and payout timing

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and close efficiency while maintaining compliance and data integrity

  • Provide guidance or mentorship to other analysts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Revenue and Royalty Accounting

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field; CPA designation strongly preferred

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in oilsands revenue accounting, royalty accounting, or regulatory reporting within the Canadian oil and gas industry

  • Strong working knowledge of the Alberta Oilsands Royalty regime, including pre‑ and post‑payout calculations and allowable cost and handling charge concepts

  • Proven experience supporting month‑end close, including revenue and royalty accruals, production and pricing analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Demonstrated ability to support internal and external audits, including royalty, SOX, and regulatory audits

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to explain complex royalty and revenue matters clearly
