The Analyst supports the company-wide (both CEI and CECONY) development of the annual and five-year budget and forecast including the issuance of budget guidelines, consolidation of EPS projections, and preparation of Board materials. On a monthly basis, position supports the consolidation and reporting of actual performance against budgets and/or forecasts. This position also supports aggregation of various inputs from other departments into financial models and monthly forecasting. Other functions include supporting development of corporate updates for senior management, formal presentations on various topics and providing financial knowledge and technical expertise in special studies.
Required Education/Experience- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or related field. and 2 years relevant work experience
Preferred Education/Experience- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, English, or Related Disciplines and 2 years of relevant work experience work experience performing or assisting in the development of technical studies or analyses
Relevant Work Experience- Demonstrated leadership and communication experience, required.
- Understanding of Con Eds business (e.g., services provided, current events) and FP&A function (e.g., objective, role, deliverables), required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, required.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles (e.g., income statement, balance sheet), required.
- Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities and proactive qualities, required.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills, required.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, required.
- Work experience with EPBCS and Strategic Modelling, work management systems and budgeting and data visualization tools (e.g. Oracle, Power BI), preferred.
Licenses and Certifications- Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
- Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
Core Responsibilities- Supports the development of the annual and five-year forecast. Communicates with all departments that provide input to obtain sufficient detail for management evaluation.
- Helps perform assignments, requiring financial concepts, for senior management and other organizations and assists with studies specifically directed to utility practices.
- Supports aggregation of inputs to the financial forecast and performance of monthly analysis, including CECONY Corporate Accounting, Treasury and Tax, and other CEI subsidiaries. Helps develop presentations to be shared with senior management and Company organizations. Participates on teams as required.
- Assists with studies, investigations, and the preparation of reports as required.
- Maintains a good working knowledge of techniques relative to subjects covered in the job duties.
- Performs other related tasks and assignments as required.
