Job Summary
We are seeking an Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Automation, Kubernetes (On-Prem), Virtualization, and Operating Systems (Linux/Windows) to modernize and operate virtualized and hybrid infrastructure environments. This role focuses on building repeatable, self-service workflows for provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management, while supporting container platforms such as Kubernetes within the broader infrastructure ecosystem.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
Automation Engineer – Kubernetes (On-Prem / Private Cloud)
Automation & Infrastructure
- Strong automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise (e.g., Puppet, Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Helm).
- Solid experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware v Sphere, KVM, or Open Stack.
- Experience with CI/CD and Git-based workflows (branching strategies, code reviews, release and versioning practices).
- Experience with secrets management and secure access control using Hashi Corp Vault.
- Strong Linux and Windows fundamentals along with sound infrastructure networking knowledge.
- Experience operating production infrastructure environments, including incident response and root cause analysis.
Kubernetes Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience operating Rancher-managed Kubernetes clusters in on-premises environments.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and core components.
- Experience with Kubernetes networking (CNI, Ingress, Load Balancers, DNS, and foundational Service Mesh concepts).
- Experience with storage integrations (CSI, Persistent Volumes, NFS, SAN, enterprise storage platforms).
- Proven experience in cluster lifecycle management (installation, upgrades, scaling, backup and restore).
- Experience supporting production-grade Day-2 operations.
