What You Will Do:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Wichita Falls as a Furnace Technician. In this role, you will operate different furnaces for coating, cleaning, and heat treat of engine parts. You will also perform minor maintenance on equipment as needed to support our site in repairing the hot sections of our engines.

The person in this role will train on our 1st shift for up to 6 months. Upon completion of training, you will work a rotating schedule of 4x12 hour shifts and 3x12 hour overnight shifts each week from 8pm-8am.

Pratt & Whitney in Wichita Falls, TX is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate atmosphere, vacuum and Hydrogen Fluoride Ion (HF) furnaces for coating, cleaning and heat treating of parts per written instructions.

  • Mix coating powders as required per PMS specifications.

  • Pack and unpack coated parts.

  • Program controls and monitor operating parameters for furnace runs.

  • Make routine entries on charts and routing travelers and log data into RFMS along with trace ability records.

  • Perform preventative and minor maintenance as required.

  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area Comply with all documentation (including SOP’s, PMS’s, Routers).

  • Setup and run furnace temperature uniformity surveys.

  • Troubleshoot furnace related temperature issues.

  • Assemble O.E.M. heat treat coating batches based on alloy.

  • Must complete OJT operator training after starting

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must take and pass the Furnace Operator Test with a score of 75%

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Certified forklift driver

  • Previous experience as a Furnace Operator strongly preferred

  • Previous experience performing preventative maintenance

  • Prior Aviation or Manufacturing experience
