What You Will Do:

The Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Module Center Manufacturing Engineering Organization is seeking a highly motivated individual to support the production of military and commercial hardware in our nozzle detail fabrication and assembly unit.

The Manufacturing Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop processes for new product introductions and development parts and collaborate with design engineering and IPT
  • Implementation of new capital equipment from specification to production
  • Help create and maintain shop floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process control, and tooling definition/requirements.)
  • First Article Inspection and control of manufacturing software
  • Identify & implement shop floor process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent QCPC turn backs /escapes and reduce overall assembly costs
  • Track, compile, and analyze data to understand process capability for decision making and generating projects
  • Participate and implement Customer Oriented Results & Excellence (CORE) initiatives
  • Significant interaction with the hourly work force, tool designers, QE’s, Integrated Product Teams, systems designers, Information Systems, and program assembly partners are typical of the position
  • Provide focused & effective leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factor risks

Qualification You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing/mechanical engineering or equivalent.

Preferred Educational Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree w/4–7+ years’ experience
  • MA/MS degree w/2–5+ years’ experience
  • Due to government contract U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Extensive experience in sheet metal work preferred
  • Knowledge of Solumina G7 is a plus
  • Proficiency of CORE tools including RC/CA, Mistake proofing, 3P, VSM, QCPC, MSW, set-up reduction, 6S, and VWFM.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
