Customer Service Engineer

Crawley, West Sussex | Hybrid (4 days onsite) | 60% Travel

Airports never sleep. Neither does the technology that keeps them moving.

At Collins Aerospace, we design and deliver the intelligent systems that power passenger journeys across the globe — from check-in and self-service bag drop to biometric validation and airside operations. Behind every seamless airport experience is robust infrastructure, secure networks and experts who make it all work.

We’re now looking for a Customer Service Engineer to join our Crawley team and help deploy and support mission-critical passenger processing systems across the EMEA region.

If you enjoy solving real-world technical problems, working hands-on with both software and hardware, and travelling to major airport sites — this could be your next move.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be part of a specialist deployment team responsible for delivering and supporting bespoke airport solutions. Your work will directly impact operational performance at live international airports.

You will:

  • Lead and support airport deployments of Passenger Processing Systems including CUPPS, CUSS, Self-Service Bag Drop, and Airport Solutions such as AODB / RMS, BRS, Baggage Message Systems, Passenger Validation & e Gates
  • Deploy and support LAN/WAN infrastructure including Cisco routers, ASA firewalls and switches
  • Build and configure physical servers and bespoke application environments
  • Monitor systems to ensure availability, reliability, performance and security compliance
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in live operational environments
  • Plan, design and implement configurations for tailored software solutions
  • Provide third-level support (onsite and remote) on a rotational basis, including occasional weekend support
  • Create and maintain system documentation and support procedures
  • Collaborate closely with deployment engineers and IT teams across EMEA

This is a highly visible role requiring independence, sound judgement and technical creativity.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring experience in networking and system deployment, ideally within airport or operational environments.

Outside the airport deployments, this role is based at our Crawley site for minimum of 4 days per week.

Essential experience:

  • Strong networking knowledge including Cisco CLI, switches and routers
  • Experience deploying and supporting LAN/WAN environments
  • Hands-on troubleshooting across hardware and software
  • Experience working autonomously in customer-facing environments
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 60%)

Desirable qualifications and exposure:

  • Cisco CCST or CCNA (CCNP desirable)
  • Microsoft MCSE
  • MS SQL experience
  • Exposure to AWS or other cloud providers
  • Experience within Telco or Service Provider environments
  • Knowledge of airport operations and passenger processing systems

Why Join Collins Aerospace?

Collins Aerospace is a global leader in advanced aerospace and defence solutions. Every day our teams help make travel safer, smarter and more connected.

From intelligent airport systems to next-generation aircraft technologies, our work shapes the future of aviation. In Crawley, you’ll join a team delivering high-impact solutions into live operational environments across the globe.

You’ll gain:

  • Exposure to international airport deployments
  • A technically diverse environment spanning networking, software, infrastructure and cloud
  • Opportunities to grow within a global aerospace organisation
  • Meaningful work that directly impacts millions of passengers

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy travelling, and want your technical expertise to power some of the world’s busiest airports — we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and help redefine the airport experience.
