We are seeking applicants who are passionate to provide exceptional maintenance support to ADF satellite communication systems on a fixed-term basis. As a Field Technician you will provide operational maintenance support of SATCOM terminals and rack-based RF / communications equipment based at HMAS Harman. We have flexibility to appoint a recently qualified technician and provide complete equipment training or appoint a senior technician who can work independently. For experienced technicians, the role allows for delivery of technical training to ADF, Raytheon Australia and other contractor personnel at numerous sites, upkeep of Training Management Packages, conducting of training evaluation and provision of support to training review boards for both fixed and transportable SATCOM systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provision of specialist on and off-site maintenance services to SATCOM SPO assets
• Provision of Configuration Management support to selected mission systems
• Provision of warehouse and supply support activities for Breakdown Spares, Repairable Items and Support and Test Equipment
• Ensure compliance with governance and ITAR obligations
• Produce routine equipment maintenance reports
• Maintain strong customer relations and participate as a rostered member of the 24 x 7 x 365 on-call team

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Trade Certificate III or IV in Communications or Electronic Engineering
• Senior technician will have at least three years relevant experience post-qualification
• Knowledge of and experience with terrestrial or Satellite Communications Systems
• Proficient in Microsoft office tools, especially Excel
• All applicants must hold or be able to obtain a NV1 defence security clearance.
