Job Description Summary:
As a communications professional you bring your passion for creating engaging content for internal and external audiences to work each day and there is no better place to do that with than an iconic brand like Coca-Cola. In this role you’ll be the mastermind behind leading an integrated approach to the development and implementation of our communications plans that advance awareness of the company’s business strategy and impact internally and externally. You’ll work proactively to find stories that support an established company narrative with a focus on bringing to life innovation, sustainability, community involvement and total beverage portfolio stories in social and digital media. We’re looking for someone with a digital communications background with a quick and thoughtful approach and the ability to be cool under pressure.
Position Overview
As part of our Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability (PACS) team in the ASEAN & South Pacific (ASP) region, you will play a country PACS leadership role with full end‑to‑end accountability for Myanmar and Cambodia. Operating as a senior individual contributor, you will operate with an enterprise and system mindset, acting as a trusted advisor to Company and bottler leadership, while personally leading and executing advocacy, communications, sustainability activation, and PACS operations in complex and evolving environments.
You will serve as the primary PACS representative and trusted advisor to internal leadership and bottling partners, while externally representing the Company with governments, industry bodies, media, and other key stakeholders. This role requires the ability to move seamlessly between strategic leadership and hands‑on execution—from shaping advocacy strategies and narratives, to managing issues, crises, budgets, agencies, reporting, and approvals.
Myanmar and Cambodia PACS Responsibilities
- Own and lead the development and execution of integrated in‑country PACS strategies and annual work plans for Myanmar and Cambodia, with full accountability for outcomes.
- Serve as the sole in‑country PACS lead, providing thought leadership, strategic direction, and hands‑on execution while coordinating across Company functions, bottlers, and external partners.
- Lead and execute legislative and regulatory advocacy, including issue monitoring, policy analysis, stakeholder mapping, engagement planning, and direct advocacy to support business and industry priorities.
- Build, cultivate, and sustain senior‑level relationships with government ministries, regulators, industry and trade associations, think tanks, NGOs, and media as the Company’s in‑country PACS leader.
- Develop and personally execute communications strategies and campaigns—including corporate positioning, issues communications, executive messaging, and media engagement—to support business, reputation, and license‑to‑operate objectives.
- Lead sustainability and community initiatives, translating sustainability priorities into locally relevant, credible programs and campaigns that support both corporate commitments and commercial objectives.
- Strengthen and protect the Company’s corporate reputation through proactive stakeholder engagement, media relations, community affairs, and sustainability storytelling.
- Own PACS operations and governance, including planning routines, performance tracking, reporting, budget management, vendor and agency oversight, approvals, and compliance with internal processes.
- Lead Incident and Crisis Management related to your assigned countries, serving as the PACS focal point and coordinator in close collaboration with bottlers, Technical, Supply Chain, Legal, and regional teams.
- Provide clear, concise counsel to internal stakeholders, translating complex external dynamics into actionable insights and recommendations for business leaders.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in public affairs, communications, public policy, international relations, or business preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience across public affairs, government relations, communications, sustainability or related fields in the public and/or private sector.
- Proven experience operating successfully in highly matrixed organizations, with the ability to lead through influence.
- Demonstrated track record of designing and personally executing advocacy, communications, and stakeholder engagement strategies in complex or sensitive environments.
- Strong familiarity with public policy, regulatory, and socio‑political issues impacting multinational companies and regulated industries.
- Experience managing issues, crises, and reputational risk in challenging or fast‑moving environments.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Preferred: high proficiency in Burmese (Myanmar language).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into hands‑on execution.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior government, industry, and business leaders.
- Ability to operate independently with good judgment, prioritizing effectively across competing demands.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and drive alignment.
- Strong operational discipline, including experience with budgets, reporting, vendors, and governance processes.
- Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments.
