The Lead CT Technologist is a clinical and operational leader responsible for delivering high-quality Computed Tomography (CT) imaging while supporting excellence across three CT locations. In addition to performing advanced CT procedures in alignment with Cleveland Clinic standards, this role oversees daily staffing and scheduling needs, coordinates preventive maintenance for the Chestnut and Lorain sites, and assists with MRI technologist scheduling to ensure seamless coverage and workflow continuity.
This position plays a key role in maintaining imaging quality, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. Responsibilities include managing CT protocols, supporting ACR accreditation and quality initiatives, maintaining required competencies and documentation, and coordinating equipment upkeep. The Lead CT Technologist also serves as a mentor and trainer for new staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high performance standards across all sites.
This is a first-shift, Monday–Friday leadership opportunity ideal for a highly organized CT professional with a strong clinical background and a desire to grow into leadership. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding Cleveland Clinic imaging excellence.
A caregiver in this position works days| M-F| 6:30am—3:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide high-quality CT imaging and patient care services while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and regulatory compliance. Supervise and coordinate assigned personnel, including scheduling, payroll, training, performance evaluation, interviewing, and staff development.

Maintain quality assurance and quality control standards, including equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, radiation safety, inspection readiness, and compliance with all applicable local, state, federal, and accrediting agencies (e.g., ACR, MQSA, Medicare, Medicaid, FDA, JCAHO).

Prepare and educate patients for CT procedures by reviewing orders and medical history, verifying demographics, ensuring proper room setup, performing venipuncture, and administering contrast media and medications within scope of practice.

Manage technical and clerical operations of the CT department, including maintaining procedure manuals, documentation, PACS image acquisition and transmission, and daily/weekly QA testing.

Provide staffing coverage as needed and support multiple sites or modalities when required.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Graduate of an accredited education program in Radiography
-
Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) and in good standing

Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required: R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)

Current state licensure (RL)
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
-
Two years of recent modality experience
-
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
-
Can direct, evaluate and supervise others
Physical Requirements:
-
Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
