The Clinical Program Manager provides strategic coordination and operational oversight for a growing Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR) program serving critically ill adult and pediatric patients with cardiogenic shock and cardiac arrest. This role supports a high-acuity service managing complex ECMO cases, including interfacility transfers from across the United States, and contributes to the expansion of out-of-hospital ECPR services.

In close collaboration with cardiology, cardiac surgery, and critical care teams, the Program Manager advances program infrastructure through development of policies, protocols, workflows, and data systems. The role is responsible for outcomes tracking, regulatory alignment, and continuous quality improvement initiatives to ensure safe, evidence-based, and standardized care delivery across specialized ICU environments. This position requires deep ECMO and critical care expertise, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary efforts in a fast-paced, highly specialized clinical setting.

A caregiver in this position works M-F from 8:00am—4:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Ensure priorities are established for primary and comprehensive clinical program development.

  • Develop, build, manage and support program development and activities.

  • Manage operations associated with external clinical management systems.

  • Investigate issues and concerns related to performance measure compliance to determine root cause.

  • Oversee and coordinate activities for applicable committees and/or councils which manage clinical program activity enterprise wide.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field

  • Current state licensure as an RN or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)

  • 5 years of experience with appropriate patient population and/or quality management projects, systems development or related experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master's Degree

  • ECMO experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.

  • Will require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to travel to various locations throughout the Cleveland Clinic; must have normal or corrected vision to normal range, ability to clearly communicate verbally.

  • Sedentary Work -; Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

  • Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing.
