The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Skills Required:

• 12-15 years of hands-on experience with Java development and enterprise Java technologies
• Deep expertise in Java 8/11/17 including functional programming, streams, lambdas, and modern Java features
• Strong proficiency in Java EE frameworks and specifications
• Extensive experience with Spring Framework ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud)
• Expert knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design and implementation
• Proficiency in ORM frameworks (Hibernate, JPA) and database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server or NoSQL)
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS) and event-driven architectures
• Strong understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices
• Experience with build tools (Maven, Gradle) and dependency management
• Proficiency in unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, TestNG) and test-driven development (TDD)
• Knowledge of application servers (Tomcat, Web Logic, Web Sphere, JBoss)
• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity
• Expertise in object-oriented programming (OOP) and functional programming paradigms and strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub)
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Knowledge of code quality tools (Sonar Qube, Checkmarx)
• Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale, distributed systems
• Experience with API gateway patterns and service mesh architectures
• Knowledge of caching strategies
• Understanding of performance optimization and scalability principles

Good to Have Skills:

• Experience in Python 3.x frameworks for scripting, automation, and application development
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience with LLM development and integration (OpenAI GPT, Claude, Llama, etc.)
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and LLM application patterns
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (Tensor Flow, Py Torch, scikit-learn)
• Understanding of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architecture’s
• Familiarity with SQL optimization and database performance tuning

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred
