Job Description
The Analyst will provide essential support to the UAE-based Risk Assessment and Controls Design Team. This support role is instrumental in the development, design, and implementation of robust control programs specifically for Branch Services, Data & Privacy, and Sales Practices. The incumbent will drive support initiatives for enhancing controls, managing risk, and ensuring effective communication of the control environment. This position requires active contribution to maintaining adherence to Citi's Policies, Standards, and Frameworks, and to managing risks within the firm's Risk Appetite, all while operating under general supervision and contributing to the overall risk management objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical and coordination support for the oversight of Branch Services (e.g., Branch operations, ATM, digital, third-party distributors/vendors), encompassing framework maintenance, process reviews, gap analysis, and issue lifecycle management.
- Provide analytical support for gapping analysis and impact assessment as part of Regulatory Change Management related to Branch Services.
- Support the monitoring of branch activities and practices by gathering and analyzing data for adherence to internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements, particularly concerning customer treatment and product suitability.
- Help support activities related to the In-Business Privacy Officer function, including data analysis for privacy frameworks, impact assessments, compliance adherence, and incident tracking.
- Provide analytical support for the Sales Practices Review Program, including data collection, targeted review assistance, identification of non-compliance, report preparation, and remediation tracking.
- Provide analytical support functions for AML/KYC/Sanctions Execution oversight, focusing on data analysis for consistent policy application, assistance with remediation efforts, and coordination for regulatory change interpretation.
- Support remediation efforts for identified control weaknesses or audit findings related to AML/KYC and Sanctions.
- Support for the coordination of Customer Data, Digital Tools Monitoring, and Controls Automation Report, involving analytical contributions to control design, implementation, risk assessments, and remediation plan tracking.
- Contribute significantly by providing analytical support to the proactive identification and driving of controls enhancements, such as automation, standardization, and rationalization efforts across all covered areas.
- Support the compilation and synthesis of information for ongoing assessment of key risks and controls, facilitating management decisions within the firm’s Risk Appetite.
- Act as a key support resource for internal and external audits and reviews, providing necessary data and documentation.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Minimum of 8 -10 years of experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or other control-related functions in the financial services industry.
- Ability to identify, measure, and manage key risks and controls.
- Strong knowledge in the development and execution for controls.
- Proven experience in control related functions in the financial industry.
- Proven experience in implementing sustainable solutions and improving processes.
- Understanding of compliance laws, rules, regulations, and best practices.
- Understanding of Citi’s Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk and control activities and processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage at the senior management level.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Education: Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
Provide support to onshore Business Risk and Controls teams for the UAE Wealth business. Undertake activities and projects in line with direction of UAE Wealth Controls Head.
