Japan Finance & Functions Technology is responsible for providing Tech solutions and services to Finance, Compliance and HR organizations across Citi Japan legal vehicles. This position is an intermediate level position mainly providing technology services to Japan ICRM Surveillance and Compliance and responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and development activities.
In this role you’re expected to:
- Understand Japan regulatory requirements and work with Compliance and Global/Japan technology stakeholders to deliver solutions.
- Understand Equity products and relevant Markets business flows to support Compliance and ICRM Trade Surveillance processes.
- Manage Japan applications, projects and budgets for application related development and execution.
- Provide accurate status updates on regular/adhoc basis to relevant stakeholders and senior management.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
- Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, Project planning, risk assessment, applications development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems to meet specific business needs or user areas.
- Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users.
- Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business processes, system processes, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement.
- Fully understand and adhere to Japan local project management and Country Impact assessment (CIA) Processes.
- Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality.
- Consult with Business Users/Third Party Vendors and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions.
- Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
- Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower-level developers.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure to:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Application Development, Support, Project Management and Business Analysis.
- Strong knowledge in Subject Matter Expertise and work experience in Market Products for more than 5+ years.
- Analyze and get familiar with existing trading system data flow and processes.
- Understand Market products and relevant business processes to support ICRM Trade Surveillance processes
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Any Certification in Fundamentals related to Markets Domain would be added advantage.
- Experience in documentation, automation, simplification, systems analysis and programming software applications.
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
- Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
- Strong Programming skills in Unix/Linux, Java, PL/SQL (Oracle 19c), Perl Programming, Shell Scripting, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, JavaScript, Python, Database Design, Performance Tuning and Optimization.
- Experience in resolving issues related to various Japanese character encoding.
- Working experience in Agile methodologies, Sprint Planning with good knowledge in DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in identifying code vulnerabilities, remediations and optimization.
- Knowledge and work experience in AI tools usage and Prompt Engineering.
- Experience in Cloud Technologies, Rest API, Software Deployments, Server Migrations.
- Strong knowledge and work experience in using Source Code Control Tools, Deployment Tools, IDEs, Scheduling and Monitoring Tools.
- Experience in working and coordinating with Production Management teams to identify the issues, problem analysis, fixing bugs with strict timelines.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, proactive working attitude, quick learning ability, strong ownership and responsibility and team spirit.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
