Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) works with mid-market and fast growth businesses across the world, especially clients with international presence and aspirations. The successful Business Development – Treasury, Cards & Trade Sales -candidate will lead origination of global cash management, cards and trade business with Nordic Headquartered clients to grow domestic and outbound business. Examples include ongoing commitment in identifying new revenue streams and flows, support and own RFPs and deepen wallet penetration for revenue realisation.
Broader understanding of the treasury ecosystem and related developments in the market is key in this role. The transaction banking industry is undergoing a tremendous amount of disruption as clients rapidly change their behaviors with new business models (e.g. direct to consumer, e Commerce) and clients are increasingly expecting thought leadership on banking solutions geared toward their specific industry and more holistic solutions to address cash management and working capital needs. The role is responsible for acquiring new clients across the CCB client segments & deepen wallet share with existing clients by identification and delivery of innovative client centric solutions.
This is an individual contributor role that is expected to deliver fast sustainable growth with the ability to manage multiple clients and senior management demands.
Core Responsibilities:
- Grow Commercial Business & deliver on ambitious revenue growth.
- Participate in and drive strategic initiatives, new product commercialization and process rationalization to help grow revenues.
- Become subject matter expert for solution-based.
- Become an expert on all treasury and cash management offerings both at the bank and the broader market.
- Participate in and lead critical sub-products/workstreams that are foundational pillars for success.
- Evaluate issues to identify potential impact and take steps to mitigate, advise proactive solutions and develop an approach involving weighing of various alternatives.
- Provide solutions for all escalated client issues and co-ordinate resolution ensuring best possible client experience.
- Work closely with Product Teams and Coverage Banking to ensure complete alignment in client planning, opportunity targeting, deal progression and revenue growth.
- Ensure strong collaboration with peers in other parts of EMEA and other regions so that cross-regional / global opportunities are appropriately managed.
- Track deal pipeline and review of implementation and revenue realization regularly.
- Foster productive working relationships with partner groups across regional/global product teams, and work with the CCB Nordics RM team and Product teams to build solutions based on clients’ needs.
- Proactively work with RMs to drive business growth, owning cash deals from origination to execution.
- Contribute to growing CCB Nordics business through strategic thinking and taking-on special projects.
- Increasing customer volumes/revenues in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Travel: 50-70%
Skills that will help you in the Role:
- Knowledge of the Nordic / Western Europe market, understanding market forces and drivers;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to influence decisions;
- Ability to multitask and prioritise conflicting deliverables both for clients and internally;
- Experience in managing client relationships;
- Know where to apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency;
- Fluency in English, and any Nordic language(s) will be complimentary;
- Communication skills for effective presentations, pitches and conversions;
- Ability to identify problems and solutions leveraging cash product propositions, business drivers, policies, customer needs and market trends;
- Knowledge of regulations, market practices and bank operations;
- Strong focus on delivery, ability to turn concepts into actionable solutions;
- Ability to create longer term, positive trust and advisory based relationships with customers;
- Open-mindedness to evaluate various alternative solutions to customer needs;
- Clear understanding of the core Cash Management product suite including payments, collections, and liquidity;
- Technical skills: MS Office, PowerPoint knowledge, CRM applications and awareness of ERP and Technical integration will be a bonus
Qualifications:
- 5+ years commercial banking experience and/or cash management
- Track record of initiating, executing and growing complex client relationship
- Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree
This Role is a “Controlled Function” Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015
