Overview:

The Global Lending Operations (“GLO”) Reconciliation Governance and Controls Sr. Manager role will bring extensive experience in performing analysis of data and understanding of the source causing reconciliation breaks while providing oversight from a control point of view. This role requires a deep understanding of operational flows for commercial lending products and excellent communication skills, which are required to identify themes causing reconciliation breaks across various loan processing groups within GLO.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and manage a team responsible for governance, controls, and the resolution of reconciliation breaks resulting from loan processing activity
  • Lead team in the development of business initiatives and approaches to solve challenges related to GLO reconciliation systems and product processors
  • Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness, and delivery of complex deliverables often related, but not limited to the reconciliation break processes
  • Perform root cause analysis of reconciliation breaks and partner with stakeholders to lead enhancements or process changes to reduce outstanding breaks
  • Lead data enrichment initiatives to streamline and enhance accuracy of reconciliation processes and activities
  • Partner with key stakeholders to monitor and risk assess outstanding reconciliation breaks, including the determination of impacts to financial reporting
  • Supports a wide range of internal clients (processing, transformation, client delivery, and technology), including but not limited to assessing service quality and identifying areas for process improvement, service, or technology enhancements.
  • Accountable for integrity of process, operations, and associated results
  • Defines, develops, implements, and tracks appropriate related KPIs and SLAs for the group
  • Assumes informal/formal leadership role within the team, is involved in the coaching, training, and providing guidance and support to the team
  • Ability to build strong relationships and interact at all levels in the organization
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience within financial services industry
  • English proficiency (spoken and written) required
  • Energetic leader who can independently lead and drive initiatives and deliverables
  • Knowledge of loan operations, commercial lending products, transactions, processes, product processors, and related accounting principles and practices
  • High degree of numeracy, an analytical approach to tasks and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Wide-ranging experience with commercial lending technology and related reconciliation and accounting flows (Loan IQ, Flexcube, Transaction Lifecycle Management preferred)
  • Experience with general ledger and subledger systems (eRecon, FullSuite preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to lead, assign, and manage priorities amongst team
  • Ability to identify, mitigate, manage, resolve, and escalate risks and issues
  • Extensive experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word) is required
  • Awareness of risk types, policies and control measures and processes
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to make comprehensive decisions that will positively affect the Lending Operations organization

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Finance degree preferred or similar discipline
