- Cigna’s Global Individual Health (GIH) business is a leader in providing international health insurance to expatriates and other globally mobile individuals. The Business Development Consultant will report directly to Head of Distribution
- APAC, proactively develop and grow the CIGNA Global GIH business via brokers across the APAC region. A key focus will be to recruit new Intermediaries across the region, train and develop business with them, as we grow the number of producing partners.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:

Identify, recruit and support new intermediaries to promote GIH solutions for Inbound/Outbound expats and High Net Worth segment (where relevant) across the Asia Pacific in line with the regional growth strategy

Identify intermediary events to engage potential intermediaries and present the CIGNA Global Individual Health Solutions;

Achieve the ANP sales targets for areas of responsibility

Analyse previous internal and external trends and support the Head of Region to compile any reports that are required
-
Support intermediaries and their sales teams (via face to face meetings and virtually) on any initiatives that helps develop new business opportunities
-
React promptly to any requests received from intermediaries or internal stakeholders
-
Keep abreast of all developments in the market both customer and competitor related, contributing to new product development/business initiatives accordingly;

Working very closely with the Glasgow and Dubai based Broker sales and support team to build strong key relationships.

Liaise with internal departments, e.g. telesales, operations, underwriting, marketing, in line with established procedures to ensure optimum service to intermediaries and customers.
Desired Skills and Experience
-
Operated in an insurance / financial services environment
-
Minimum 3 years in DTC/B2B sales/business development experience, gained preferably in either the medical or international business arena

Understanding of Intermediary Markets and B2B distribution
-
Have a good understanding of the APAC marketplace
-
Ability to work independently
-
Able to set and achieve strategic as well as specific new business targets
-
Full understanding of principles of insurance
-
Able to communicate and influence decision making at all levels
-
Ability to operate effectively and efficiently within a matrix environment
-
Qualification in business administration/sales skills
-
Have a good understanding of working with different cultures
-
Be flexible and open minded with the working environment, enabling successful collaboration across multiple time zones when needed.

Ability to work within a remote environment.
