The Digital Advisory pillar within Workplace, Experience and Digital Strategy team helps clients leverage data and digital solutions to drive business value. We take a strategic approach to identify the best digital solutions, shaping the strategy, informing the business case, and implementing sustainable digital change.
This opportunity is fo a Senior Consultant / Business Analyst with strong experience in smart buildings, IoT, Prop Tech, digital transformation, and human centred design to join our Digital Advisory team. This role focuses on analysing and optimising building technology ecosystems, connected assets, operational workflows, and digital solutions across the built environment.
What you’ll do:• Conduct business analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement to define business needs, digital opportunities, and smart building use cases.
- Analyse as is processes, OT/IT environments, building systems, and IoT data to design to be digital workflows, smart building architectures, and service models.
- Produce detailed business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, and solution specifications using structured BA methodologies.
- Apply human centred design, journey mapping, and user research to shape digital solutions aligned to occupant experience and operational efficiency.
- Perform quantitative analysis, data interpretation, gap analysis, and benefits modelling to build evidence based business cases and ROI assessments.
- Deliver high quality client reports, transformation strategies, digital roadmaps, process maps, and executive level presentations.
- Lead project workstreams, manage deliverables, and coordinate with cross functional teams including engineering, technology, workplace, and data specialists.
- Support bid development, proposal writing, thought leadership, and market-facing content.
- Contribute to CBRE’s digital advisory frameworks, smart building methodologies, and internal knowledge development
What you’ll need:• Strong understanding of smart building technology, IoT platforms, connected assets, sensor ecosystems, BMS/BAS, and building performance analytics.
- Experience in digital transformation, digital strategy, Prop Tech solutions, data driven optimisation, and operational technology (OT).
- Expertise in human centred design, service design principles, and experience-led requirement development.
- Skilled in process mapping, workflow design, Lean analysis, and structured problem solving.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client facing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and digital documentation tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver to deadlines.
- Collaborative, analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive mindset.
Digital Specific Skills (desirable not essential): • Experience with AI/ML for building optimisation, FDD (Fault Detection & Diagnostics), digital twins, and workplace analytics platforms.
- Background in Agile, including Scrum, Kanban, and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with data ontologies and standards such as Brick Schema, Project Haystack, and BACnet.
- Certifications such as BCS Business Analysis, IIBA (CBAP/CCBA), Agile, Scrum Master, or Product Owner.
