Job Purpose and Impact:

  • The Director, FSQR - Australia & SSEA provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, compliant, and consistently high‑quality products
  • Right First Time across Australia-NZ operations (Crush, Refinery, Grain Flow, Trading, imports, warehousing, 3 rd Party Ops) and SSEA (Trading, Storage, and Third‑Party Operations).

This role is a key business partner to Operations, Commercial, MSC, and regional leadership teams, driving a Zero Harm quality culture, enabling business growth, and embedding FSQR excellence into strategy, projects, and innovation across the region.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure the release of safe, regulatory‑compliant products that consistently meet customer and consumer specifications across all in‑scope operations.
  • Provide regional governance for food safety, quality assurance, laboratory operations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as the senior FSQR authority for risk‑based decision making, incident management, and regulatory engagement**.**
  • Drive Right First Time, Every Time performance through standardized, best‑practice FSQR systems and risk management frameworks.
  • Strengthen preventive and in‑process controls to reduce cost of non‑conformance and improve first‑pass quality.
  • Ensure consistent implementation and continuous improvement of FSQR standards, procedures, and verification programs.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement with a strong focus on in‑process controls and defect prevention.
  • Partner with Continuous Improvement (CI) and Operations teams to execute sustainable improvements that deliver measurable business value.
  • Lead the development of a high‑performance, Zero Harm quality culture, aligned with regional and enterprise business strategies.
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and accountability for FSQR performance at all levels of the organization.
  • Position quality as a business enabler that supports growth, customer trust, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with MSC & Commercial teams to support short‑ and long‑term strategic business plans.
  • Provide FSQR leadership and guidance for market expansion, customer solutions, and supply chain strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, balancing commercial priorities with product safety and compliance requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required

  • Extensive leadership experience in Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory within complex manufacturing, trading, or supply chain environments
  • Proven ability to lead and influence across multi‑site, multi‑country operations
  • Strong expertise in FSQR systems, risk management, and regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated success in driving cultural change and continuous improvement
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and change‑management skills

Preferred

  • Experience within large, matrixed, global organizations

  • Knowledge of agricultural, food processing, trading, or ingredient supply chains
