Responsibilities:

  • Linux VM Administration: Secure and maintain Linux virtual machines (RHEL 8/9, CentOS 7) across various cloud platforms.

  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Ensure the health and performance of production Linux VMs and Kubernetes clusters using tools like Rancher and Kubernetes.

  • Data Integration Support: Manage Apache Ni Fi deployments, performing configuration updates, monitoring data flows, and resolving issues.

  • Automation: Execute and maintain Ansible playbooks for configuration management and deployment tasks.

  • Certificate Management: Oversee the full certificate lifecycle, ensuring systems adhere to security and compliance standards.

  • System Updates: Perform software updates, patching, and system hardening through YUM and enterprise repositories.

  • Collaborative Support: Work directly with development teams and end-users to provide operational support, from simple configurations to complex cluster builds.

  • Performance Analysis: Analyze logs, troubleshoot performance issues, and identify root causes of problems at VM, container, or application levels.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • An active NSA TS/SCI with Polygraph.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. 4 years of additional experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

  • 5 years of experience managing and monitoring large Hadoop clusters (>200 nodes).

  • Proven troubleshooting experience with VMs and applications.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher.

  • Familiarity with Apache Ni Fi or similar data integration tools.

  • Working knowledge of Ansible for automation.

  • Hands-on experience managing VMs in Open Stack, VMware, or AWS.

  • Ability to troubleshoot SSH, performance, and network-related issues.

  • Experience with security hardening (STIG, STE/STN) and compliance documentation (SSP).

  • Active Security certification.

Desired:

  • Advanced Ansible automation experience.

  • PKI/Certificate management experience.

  • Familiarity with Grafana, Rook-Ceph, and Git.

  • Exposure to AWS services (EC2, RDS, etc.).

  • Understanding of Ni Fi architecture and dataflow troubleshooting.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively while managing independent tasks.

  • Hadoop/Cloud System Administration Certification is a plus.
