Take your 4G/LTE/5G expertise and contribute to a mission-critical effort modernizing U.S. Air Force networks across the United States and Indo-Pacific regions. As an RF-Cellular Engineer, you’ll help lead the design, deployment, test, and sustainment of advanced wired and wireless systems supporting global missions. You’ll conduct site surveys, design mission-critical, outdoor private 5G networks, create network artifacts, and deliver cyber-resilient infrastructure in alignment with Air Force and host-nation requirements.
Responsibilities:
Multi-disciplined RF engineer with experience across wired, wireless, and cellular solutions. Implements requirements, aids in designs and network topology artifact creation. Assists with developing designs, configurations, and implementations of 5G data networks based on the customers’ performance and specifications. Conducts site surveys and network assessments to determine the best hardware and software components to ensure networks are reliable, efficient, and secure. Supports preliminary and final SPRIP development. Conducts systems pre-tests and acceptance tests to validate the designed performance criteria. Ensures installations are performed within safety standards and work site conditions (cleanliness), including restoration of the site to original or better condition. Knowledgeable of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP). Experienced with Cellular Cores, Baseband Units, Remote Radio Units, Antennas, User Equipment (UE), SIM, and LTE/5G concepts. Supports cyber artifacts such as topology/data flow diagrams, hardware/software lists, STIG checklists, ports/protocols/services, and POA&Ms. Supports design and implementation of secure networks, systems, and application architectures. Supports network management such as SNMP, SYSLOG, and orchestration. Supports LOM to capture all major components and installation materials to ensure successful deployment of systems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable. Ensures network solutions follow all pertinent DAF policies and established compliant IT system integrations. Assists the O&M team in troubleshooting network-related issues post-deployment of the new systems. Gathers and analyzes system requirements to design and implement network solutions that are secure and scalable. Coordinates with local Communication Squadron and/or regional cybersecurity teams to configure, turn up, and cutover new deployments. Assists the O&M team in troubleshooting network-related issues post-deployment of the new systems.
Qualifications:
Experience: 2-3 years with bachelor’s degree in RF, Cellular, or Tactical Wireless Engineering/Tools
Degree: Technical BA/BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or related field
Commensurate: High School diploma or associate degree plus a minimum of 5 years performing as a Cellular Network Engineer on large, complex programs
Desired:
Specific Skills: Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio); demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with their team and customers
Military Experience is a plus
Experience with 4G, LTE, or 5G systems is highly desirable
Certification(s): CCNA or equivalent; CompTIA Security;
Clearance: Secret Eligible

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$60,100 - $123,200
