About the Role

CACI is seeking TS/SCI Poly-cleared candidates for Uzbek AND Russian Speakers Translators and Interpreters professionals to join our prime contract supporting government operations in Fairfax, VA.

This role will enable you to utilize both your linguistic and analytical skills for mission-driven roles. You will translate and/or transcribe intermediate to advanced-level printed materials, including but not limited to: technical manuals, foreign language periodicals, and audio files into correct grammatical American English. You will work either lead or be part of a team of linguists supporting CONUS and/or OCONUS operations.

Responsibilities

Translation

• Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that contain facts and some abstract language showing an ability to capture intended implications and many nuances
• Generally capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text
• Ensure word choice and expression adhere to target language norms and means of expression specific to subject field(s)
• Operate successively in target language fields

Interpretation

• Interpret accurately
• Typically conduct consecutive interpretation, but simultaneous interpretation (French and/or Arabic to English and English to French and/or Arabic) may be requested on occasions
• Demonstrate good understanding of one or more regional dialects

Transcription

• Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with a high degree of accuracy and expression
• Possess excellent English-language written communication skills for preparing reports
• Demonstrate good understanding of one or more regional dialects

Qualifications

Required

• Ability to pass an advanced English test
• Active TS/SCI Clearance with adjudicated Polygraph
• Bachelor's Degree
• Ability to score ILR Level 3 or higher on target language translation test
• Minimum five (5) years' professional experience conducting translation, transcription, translation, and/or interpretation
• In-depth knowledge of the geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language geographical areas
• Master use of MS Office and internet research

Nice to Have

• Previous military experience
• Good understanding of one or more regional dialects
• Consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation abilities

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $86,600 - $181,800

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
