The Opportunity: As a Logistics Specialist, you’ll be joining an elite team of subject matter experts supporting Military Sealift Command’s Ship Maintenance Support Program providing a full range of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) services to ships operating worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, order, and track material identified by Principal Port engineers as Government Furnished Material (GFM)
  • Perform technical edit screening on all material or service order requests
  • Research, submit, track, and validate requisitions and material required to support ship mission, repair, ashore allowances, and shipboard allowance requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain the status of all material ordered for ship maintenance availabilities; participate in cradle to grave tracking processes to support ship maintenance scheduling.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy of all assigned vessels stored in various MSC warehouses
  • Perform task administration, team training and quality assurance
  • Technical writing, developing, editing, reviewing and formatting trainee and desk guides.

Qualifications:

  • Secret clearance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 14 years of demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and relevant experience fleet sustainment logistics support services to fleet vessels of the MSC, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Coast Guard.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office products, particularly Excel
  • Experience with ship acquisition and fleet sustainment support services utilizing any of the following systems: MSC/Navy/Coast Guard/Commercial databases/systems as well as One Touch Supply Logi Quest or Haystack and Fed Mall
