Join our Technology Team and advance your career as a Process & Data Analyst
We are seeking a hands-on analyst who combines researcher-level difficulty (quantitative + qualitative) with process and journey design. You will trace and correct data across legacy systems, investigate how information moves end-to-end, and map/reshape customer journeys and operational processes—from as-is diagnosis to to-be design—ensuring data integrity and resilient operations. You’ll partner closely with the German technology team on the systems that handle hundreds of thousands of transactions across bp’s retail fuel business in Germany and Luxembourg. This is an exciting role that is a core enabler ensuring to keep bp’s systems and processes accurate and continuously improving.
In this role You will:
Process & Data Flow Analysis:
- Hands-on experience analyzing end-to-end business processes and data flow across legacy and modern systems; produce BPMN/UML process maps, service blueprints, and customer journey maps that connect
front-stage experiences to back-stage operations
Researcher Mentality:
- Plan and conduct mixed methods investigations (log/event analysis, SQL/Python data queries, sampling & reconciliation, collaborator interviews, desk research) to uncover where and why data or process issues occur; synthesize findings into clear insights and evidence-based recommendations.
Legacy Data Analysis:
- Practical experience working with data structures and older enterprise systems to extract, reconcile and validate data, document assumptions, edge cases, and transformations.
What You will need to be successful:
- BA or master’s in economics or similar fields
- Demonstrable experience in a data analysis or process improvement role, demonstrating strong Commercial Acumen
- Good Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Demonstrated expertise in Data Analysis, Data Cleansing and Transformation, and Data Manipulation
- Solid understanding of Data Domain Knowledge relevant to the energy sector or large multinational organizations
- Proficiency in Data Integration and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes
- Experience with Data Management principles and guidelines
- Skilled in Data Sourcing and developing effective data acquisition strategies
- Familiarity with Data Strategy and Governance frameworks
- Strong capabilities in Data Visualization and Interpretation tools and techniques
- Awareness of Digital Security principles related to data handling and storage
- Demonstrable ability to contribute effectively in Group Problem Solving environments

- German language knowledge would be welcome.
