Join our Team and advance your career as a Payment Operations Manager

The Payment Operations Manager sits at the heart of BP’s retail business, ensuring seamless processing, compliance, and vendor relationships—critical for delivering the best customer experience. This hands-on role focuses on daily decision-making, compliance, and operational excellence across payment systems and in multiple countries across Europe.

In this role You will:

  • Oversee daily payment processing (manual & automated) with focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Manage exceptions, reconciliations, and vendor incident resolution.
  • Develop and implement efficient, secure payment processes to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, PSD2, AML).
  • Act as the first escalation point for operational issues.
  • Monitor payment trends and optimize performance through reporting.
  • Drive automation, process improvements, and run vendor relationships.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, payment technologies, and regulatory updates.

What You will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Finance).
  • Significant years’ experience in merchant payments.
  • Shown success in acquiring projects with card schemes.
  • Experience running technical and operational change processes.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and financial process design (e.g., ledger logic, reconciliations, forecasting).
  • A product mindset—able to treat payment operations as a product, working closely with engineering to build scalable, automated solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
