AI RAN Telecommunications Engineer, Lead

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a senior AI RAN Telecom Engineer to leverage their deep experience in RAN systems and a strong grasp of AI and ML technologies. In this role, you'll be a technical leader guiding the design, development, and deployment of AI-native RAN solutions, working at the intersection of real-time communications and intelligent automation. You'll help architect next-gen systems that improve spectrum efficiency, reduce OPEX, and enable autonomous network operations.

You Have:

• 8 years of experience in telecom engineering, including RAN, LTE/5G NR, or O-RAN systems
• Experience applying AI and ML in networking, signal processing, or automation contexts
• Experience with Kubernetes including kubeadm or Openshift Container Platform
• Experience with tools such as Python, Tensor Flow, Py Torch, ONNX, or CUDA
• Experience with gNB simulators, Open Air Interface, srsRAN, or commercial 5G stacks
• Experience with x Apps or r Apps, RIC platforms, and O-RAN Alliance specs
• Knowledge of 3GPP, RAN protocols, including RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, and PHY, and CU/DU architectures
• Ability to drive collaboration across engineering and product teams
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in an Electrical Engineering field

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with AI model deployment in low-latency or embedded environments
• Experience with standards bodies, such as 3GPP or O-RAN Alliance
• Experience in open-source RAN or AI projects
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Master's degree in EE, CS, or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
