We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Payments Product Manager to join our Global Payments & Trade team. In this role, the Payments Product Manager will focus on Value Added Services, representing products and services that go beyond our core banking products and enhance our overall solutions and help us be more for our clients. This role is located in New York, NY.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Establish the foundational support necessary for the ongoing growth, enhancement, and maturity of our Value-Added Overlay Services for our Banking as a Service platform (e.g., Core Banking, For Benefit Of Accounts, Benefits Disbursement, Prepaid Debit Card, Bill Pay Advantage, Merchant Services, Virtual Card), which are key competitive differentiators for BNY.

  • Lead, evaluate and coordinate efforts around the expansion of our BaaS capabilities, including coordination with product governance partners to ensure proper regulatory framework implementation.

  • Product Execution: Own end to end product delivery (concept to launch), setting execution standards, driving trade off decisions, and ensuring launch readiness to deliver high quality products with maximum customer impact.

  • Collaborate with teams across lines of business and functional areas (e.g., Client Advisory and Product Solutions, SPIN Partnerships and Innovation, legal, compliance, risk, finance, and marketing) on developing new products and maintaining success of existing solutions.

  • Perform competitive benchmarking of VAS offering with respect to similar services offered by banks, fintech, and other non-financial institutions.

  • Structure and scope complex problems by supporting large scale and complex delivery across multiple work streams with varying timelines and priorities.

  • Leverage a strong analytical skillset throughout your work, including in analysis of large data sets and insights to develop solutions.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies by maintaining robust product governance and risk management practices.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 to 7 years of demonstrated experience delivering payments products in complex, regulated environments.

  • Digital payment rails and payment infrastructure experience is preferred.

  • API integrations and digital assets experience are nice to have.

  • Highly self directed and organized, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Strong payments domain expertise, with demonstrated ownership, sound judgment, and accountability in fast paced environments.

  • Structured thinking ability, strong attention to detail and effective communication skills, including excellent written communication.

  • Experience with agile methodologies, product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability prioritize tasks and collaborate cross-functionally.

  • Curiosity and drive for learning, combined with a "get-it-done" attitude to navigate roadblocks and stay focused on outcomes.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $83,000 and $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short- and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
