About this role

Aladdin Data is building a next-generation Data Platform as a Service (DPaaS) to power scalable, secure, and governed data solutions across the Aladdin ecosystem. This platform enables product teams to build, deploy, and operate data-driven applications using standardized infrastructure, graph APIs, and reusable services.

As a Vice President, Software Engineering within DPaaS, you will architect and build scalable distributed systems and business-facing platforms that support enterprise-grade data workloads and supports end to end data management capabilities. You will work across backend, platform, and front-end layers, leveraging modern open-source technologies and cloud-native architectures.

This role requires deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and modern UI technologies, along with strong leadership and analytical capabilities.

What you’ll do

  • Architect and build scalable distributed applications powering Data Platform as a Service capabilities
  • Design and develop microservices and APIs using REST, Kafka, and/or gRPC
  • Build backend services leveraging Java (Spring, Hibernate), Go Lang, and modern open-source frameworks
  • Develop responsive, scalable front-end applications using React and Redux
  • Contribute to or design Micro Front-End architectures
  • Design and optimize relational and NoSQL data solutions
  • Implement event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing systems
  • Apply object-oriented design principles and patterns to create extensible systems
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to build CI/CD pipelines using Git, Maven, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
  • Ensure platform reliability, observability, security, and performance at scale
  • Work within Agile development frameworks and contribute to sprint planning, architecture reviews, and backlog prioritization
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to platform strategy and engineering best practices

What we’re looking for

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience delivering medium to large-scale enterprise solutions
  • Proven experience architecting and building scalable distributed systems
  • Strong expertise in Java (Spring, Hibernate, Maven, JUnit)
  • Strong hands-on experience with React and Redux
  • Experience with Go Lang
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience building microservices and APIs using REST, Kafka, and/or gRPC
  • Experience with Event-Driven Architecture and Microservices
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design patterns
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building Micro Front-End solutions
  • Experience working with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience contributing to open-source technologies
