About this role

Black Rock Global Corporate Communications is looking for an Associate, based in New York, to support strategic communications for the firm’s technology and innovation platform. This includes working with Comms leadership to execute proactive, multi-channel campaigns that drive commercial outcomes for Black Rock’s technology and innovation agenda, inclusive of the Aladdin business, Gen AI, blockchain, and digital asset funds.

About Corporate Communications

An important part of Black Rock’s Corporate Affairs function, the Global Corporate Communications team leads all internal and external communications that advance our purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being. The team is responsible for driving global communications and stakeholder engagement strategies that strengthen our brand and reputation, enable business growth and performance, and enhance our culture.

Responsibilities

  • Support the roll out of stakeholder-centric communications strategies to deliver Black Rock’s tech and innovation platform, through a multi-channel approach, including earned media, social media and owned digital properties.
  • Coordinate media interviews and public speaking engagements with trained spokespeople across the firm, ensuring the topic is defined and the spokesperson is briefed in advance with the relevant key messages.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with business/financial and trade media across channels (print, online, broadcast and social).
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of media events, roundtables, press conferences and educational seminars.
  • Help manage the handling of media enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate the distribution of a full range of written materials including press releases, by-lined articles and reports relating to the business.
  • Support the global efforts of Corporate Communications by monitoring ongoing press coverage of important headlines.
  • Work collaboratively with a global cohort of Analysts and Associates, who are the firm’s key function for monitoring media coverage as well as industry and geopolitical developments.

Qualifications

  • ~3-5+ years of experience in corporate communications (agency or in house), preferably across technology communications and/or asset management.
  • Thorough understanding of the asset management industry, investment products and strategies, capital markets and issues facing institutional and individual investors.
  • Strong preference for knowledge of the digital assets space and enterprise software.
  • An energetic team player and driven self-starter, with a positive mindset and excellent work ethic.
  • Ability to multitask and operate with flexibility in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines with resilience and intellectual flexibility.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with our executives, journalists and colleagues around the world.
  • Track record of working effectively with senior executives.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD**$105,000.00** - USD**$137,500.00** . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. Black Rock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
