Overview:

Black Rock Investment Management (Korea) Limited has an opening for an analyst/associate role within the Legal and Compliance function. This individual will provide close support to the Legal and Compliance officer located in Korea, who in turn provides advice and support to our business in Korea.

The successful candidate will be involved with all legal and regulatory matters in Korea and interface with internal stakeholders at all levels and across different business groups, including Asia Pacific-based management and local senior management. The individual will be a team player, highly organized, resourceful, detail oriented with excellent verbal and written English skills and have experience working with constituents located outside of Korea.

The primary responsibility is to assist in overseeing and managing legal and regulatory issues for Black Rock’s business in Korea.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal/compliance support on all legal and regulatory issues pertaining to a collective investment business, investment advisory business and discretionary business license, among other things.

  • Provide assistants in relation to Black Rock Korea’s board, committees and senior management on legal and regulatory risks impacting Black Rock Korea and its clients.

  • Support matters relating to Korea regulatory authorities, internal and external advisors and internal control groups.

  • Provide support on all regulatory issues relating all day-to-day activities of the Korea business.

  • Provide support on registration of offshore products in Korea.

  • Assist in reviewing, drafting and negotiating of agreements in support of Black Rock’s business operations in Korea.

  • Coordinating with external advisors in Korea including external counsels.

  • Support the Legal and Compliance officer manage relationship between Black Rock and the FSS and FSC.

  • Participate in global and/or regional legal and compliance initiatives and projects and working with legal and compliance colleagues from other Black Rock offices to ensure global best practice and consistency wherever possible.

Qualifications:

  • 2 –5 years of experience, either at a law firm or a financial services company

  • Legal/compliance background preferable.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Strong English written and verbal communications skills.
