Job Description

The Quality Team is a matrix organization within Beyond Meat that is dedicated to creating food products that are leading the gold standard in plant-based proteins. They are looking for an outstanding individual to join the team located in Devault, PAas a Quality Assurance Lead.
The QA Lead’s primary responsibility is leading the quality technician team in collecting samples from production, preparing samples, and conducting specified tests according to standard protocols. This person would lead in maintaining sample traceability from production through final product attribute result reporting. In addition to training new Quality technicians, while maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and conduct product attribute testing for finished products, raw materials, trial products, as well as environmental samples
- Collect daily product samples from production facilities
- Complete shift reporting, verify shift paperwork for completeness/accuracy
- Ensure QA inventory is properly maintained and supplied
- Prepare lab sample submissions and prepare samples for courier pick up or shipping to approved third party lab(s)
- Maintain sample/testing material traceability by documenting all lot numbers
- Review of standard operating procedures for the relevant QA procedures
- Train new team members as needed
- Responsible for planning and performing tests and calibrations
- Escalate issues from the production floor to the QA supervisor/Quality Assurance Manager
- Ensure inspections, audits and EMP swabbing is completed in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot QMS, label makers
- Perform additional testing as needed
- Problem Solving/Risk Assessing situations
- Prepare and test finished product, raw materials, and/or environmental samples for analysis
- Assist with shipping and receiving by reviewing COA’s, incoming raw materials and outgoing finished products
- Adhere to all facility policies concerning safety, security, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or Biology preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
- Experience: 1 year of experience in a food and/or beverage manufacturing environment
- Must have the ability to quantitatively review technical procedures.
Other qualifications:
- Capable of providing detailed reports, general day-to-day oversight, and related correspondence.
- Strong mathematical skills
- Strong PC skills, including MS office programs
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience as a QA Tech
- Professional Certification: HACCP Certified preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Warehouse and production manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas.

- Must be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks.
- Position located in a mix of production and office environments and requires a tolerance for consistent cold work environments (-10-40˚ F), high worker traffic, loud noises, odors, dust, and varying room temperatures.
- This position will be required to visit the production floor, refrigerated and frozen storage, and warehouses.
- Work flexible shifts as required.
- Understand that overtime and occasional weekends and/or worked holidays will be required based on company needs.
Hourly rate commensurate with experience
The starting hourly base pay for this role is USD $24.00 per hour. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
