Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.  This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support and execute survey operations directly on site. You will work closely with the survey team to ensure the precise layout and measurement of construction works. Tasks include assisting drone pilots in the inspection of surveying equipment and conducting thorough pre- and post-flight checks. You will calibrate and operate survey instruments, verify computations, produce accurate survey deliverables, and provide technical guidance to colleagues and contractors. Your attention to detail will be vital in guaranteeing the accuracy of survey data and the efficient performance of surveying activities, thereby contributing to the safe and effective progress of construction works.

Major Responsibilities:

•    Supports the survey team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs.
•    Assists with the housekeeping and cleanliness of the project
•    Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
•    Supports Project Monitoring and Settlement Program 
•    Supports Control Network Quality Checks
•    Administers Field Training programs 
•    Assist with the inspection and maintenance of equipment.
•    Supports measuring and test equipment (M&TE) process.
•    Supports preservation and preventative maintenance database
•    Administers Projects weekly/monthly equipment collimation requirements
•    Administers Survey Equipment maintenance process and maintains calibration logs
•    Supports inventory of supplies, equipment and consumables.
•    Assist in the execution of field data collection processes.
•    Assists in the preparation of daily progress reports, periodic photographic progress reports and keeps supervisor informed on progress of assigned tasks 
•    Utilises and leverages applicable software and processes
•    Administers Field Training programs 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires high School diploma (or international equivalent) and 3-6 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities      
  • Supports the recordation of field data according to job specifications and appropriate methods of performing survey activities.       
  • Supports the administration of the survey work request program
  • Supports in inspection of commodity installation readiness (Pre-pours and post pours)
  • Supports Project As-built recordation and processes
  • Records and Supports Survey Field Control Network operation (TS, Level Loops, GNSS)
  • Demonstrates full knowledge of field GNSS base and rover operations
  • Demonstrates full knowledge of field Monitoring and settlement process
