Your Role as an Embedded Hardware R&D Engineer:
- Innovate in Electronics Development: Define, design, implement, and test electronic circuits, systems, and assemblies for cutting-edge applications.
- Design with Precision: Create schematics and PCB layouts for levitation controllers and sensor systems using modern design tools.
- Integrate Real-Time Control: Set up and validate controller peripherals such as ADC, PWM, I2C, EtherCAT, and memory interfaces for deterministic real-time hardware.
- Ensure Quality Through Testing: Derive and structure test requirements to validate performance and support high-quality electronic manufacturing.
- Support Embedded Software: Collaborate on the programming, maintenance, and optimization of embedded software for safe and reliable system operation.
- Drive Compliance: Assist in EMI, safety, and reliability testing to meet international standards.
- Analyze and Improve: Perform failure analysis and support continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Product Management: Translate customer and standardization requirements into technical solutions.
- Document and Communicate: Contribute to product manuals and user guides, including interface descriptions for integration with higher-level control systems.
- Your education and experience
- A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Computer Science, or a related field (PhD welcome)
- Proven expertise in electronic printed-circuit-board design, including hands-on experience with PCB design tools such as Eagle, Altium, OrCAD, or similar
- Familiarity with electrical design software like E3S or EPLAN is a plus
- Strong skills in debugging and optimizing both electronic hardware and embedded software
- Proficiency in C/C++, with a solid understanding of assembly language considered an advantage
- Experience with Python, scripting, and automation tools for workflow and system control
- Excellent communication skills in English and German
