Apple Ads is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager of Engineering Program Management (EPM) to lead teams responsible for our most critical advertising initiatives. In this role, you will be the connective tissue between engineering, product, corporate finance, critical billing & operations vendors, and our go-to-market teams. You will be responsible for orchestrating and delivering complex, cross-functional technical programs that are fundamental to our revenue and growth.
The ideal candidate is a master of organization and communication, adept at building strong relationships, a player-coach capable of bringing out the best in their people, and comfortable navigating ambiguity to bring clarity and structure to fast-moving projects. As a Manager of Engineering Program Management (EPM), you will:","responsibilities":"Drive Program Execution: Lead large-scale, cross-functional engineering programs in the video advertising space from conception to launch. Develop and manage project plans, define scope, track progress, and manage timelines and dependencies.
Lead a team of high performing EPMs: Lead, grow, and mentor a team of EPMs that are responsible for delivering our most important, and cross-functional product & engineering initiatives. Beyond providing guidance and coaching your team to bring the best out of them, you will also be deeply involved in their projects, capable of stepping in and unblocking them when they face unforeseen challenges.
Build and Manage Relationships with Stakeholders: Act as the central point of contact for our portfolio of Finance, Billing, and Analytics programs. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across engineering, product, sales, operations, and corporate finance to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
Communicate with Impact: Provide clear, concise, and regular communication on program status, risks, and changes to stakeholders at all levels, from individual engineers to executive leadership. Your written and verbal communication will be critical to our success.
Navigate Ambiguity: Thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment where you are empowered to define project goals, identify the path forward, and create structure where none exists.
Manage Vendors: Manage relationships and technical integrations with third-party ad tech vendors (i.e., Billing & Payments, Data Visualization). Oversee vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, and integration projects to ensure they meet our technical and business needs.
Manage Risks & Dependencies: Proactively identify, triage, and mitigate risks and cross-functional dependencies. You are the first to see a problem coming and the one who rallies the team to solve it.
Provide Technical Leadership: Leverage your familiarity with Finance & Billing systems to contribute to technical discussions, architectural decisions, and to ensure our engineering solutions are scalable, reliable, and effective.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience working with finance & billing systems
Experience managing and integrating with third-party vendors and partners
PMP or Agile certification is a plus
Minimum Qualifications:
Direct experience in, and deep familiarity with, the ad tech ecosystem
8+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional projects in a large engineering organization accountable for the development and deployment of applications and services at Apple scale.
5+ years of people management experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation and influence at all levels including executive leadership.
Strong desire to learn, skills for problem solving, and the ability to make sophisticated trade-offs.
Self-motivated, independent, and proactive; demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities; can quickly (realtime) triage, prioritize, and lead cross-functional teams under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Proven technical aptitude, you quickly learn key technologies related to your initiatives and beyond.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
