Apple Ads is seeking a highly motivated Product Manager to own critical components of our News and Video advertising technology stack, with a primary focus on video ad serving and dynamic ad insertion (DAI) for streaming content. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of ad serving solutions that power brand advertising across Apple TV live sports and Apple News. You will define the strategy and roadmap for ad insertion techniques, ad decisioning logic, and real-time creative transcoding and delivery systems.

You will work at the intersection of streaming video technology, advertising systems, and user experience-ensuring seamless ad delivery at scale while maintaining Apple's high standards for quality and privacy.
As a Product Manager, News & Video Ad Serving & Dynamic Ad Insertion, you will:
Core Responsibilities:

Lead the video ad serving architecture and roadmap, including SSAI/DAI systems, ad decisioning engines, creative delivery pipelines, and integration with streaming video infrastructure

Define product strategy for dynamic ad insertion across live and on-demand video content, ensuring accurate ad placement, seamless transitions, and optimal viewer experience

Drive technical requirements for ad pod management, competitive separation, frequency capping, and advanced targeting capabilities within the video ad serving stack

Partner with streaming video engineering teams to optimize ad break signaling, and client-player integration for both HLS and DASH protocols

Establish measurement and quality standards for video ad delivery, including ad start rates, completion rates, error tracking, quartile reporting, and latency monitoring

Collaborate with measurement and attribution teams to implement video standards, integration with verification vendors, and advertiser reporting capabilities

Work closely with campaign management teams to ensure video creative specifications, transcoding workflows, and ad serving capabilities support advertiser needs and industry standards

Coordinate with partner and infrastructure teams to ensure video ad delivery meets performance SLAs, scales globally, and handles peak traffic during live events

Create comprehensive technical documentation of video ad serving workflows, data flows, API specifications, and system architecture diagrams

Develop detailed product requirement documents (PRDs) with clearly defined acceptance criteria, user stories, and edge case handling for engineering teams

Build and maintain product roadmaps with prioritized feature development, technical debt management, and platform scalability initiatives

Communicate complex technical concepts to executive leadership, translating video ad serving performance into business impact and strategic recommendations
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience building or managing DAI systems for live streaming events (e.g., Sports) or premium on-demand video content
Hands-on experience with video ad measurement and attribution, including integration video measurement providers
Knowledge of advanced video advertising capabilities such as: Interactive video ads, shoppable ad formats, addressable TV advertising, sequential messaging, creative optimization, ad pod optimization and dynamic creative insertion
Strong analytical and SQL skills for analyzing ad serving logs, debugging delivery issues, and identifying optimization opportunities
Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with ability to balance short-term execution with long-term strategic vision
Track record of influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority and building consensus across engineering, sales, and operations
Understanding of TV advertising workflows and how digital video fits within broader brand advertising strategies
Minimum Qualifications:
5-7 years of product management experience with at least 2+ years focused specifically on video ad serving, dynamic ad insertion, or streaming video advertising technologies
Deep technical expertise in video ad serving fundamentals, including: Server-side ad insertion (SSAI) and client-side ad insertion (CSAI) architectures, Ad decisioning logic, waterfall optimization, VAST/VPAID standards and implementation, HLS and DASH streaming protocols, manifest manipulation, Video creative transcoding
Strong understanding of the video advertising ecosystem, including programmatic video, header bidding, private marketplaces (PMPs), and direct sales workflows
Technical proficiency to partner with engineering teams on API design, system architecture, and troubleshooting complex ad delivery issues
Experience with video ad quality metrics and monitoring, including ad start rates, VPAID error codes, buffering analysis, and third-party verification
Outstanding communication skills with ability to translate technical requirements for both engineering teams and business stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Pay & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
