The Apple Design team conceptualizes, designs, and creates the user experience for all Apple products, services, and accessories. This is an opportunity to design with language. A chance to represent writing as an essential part of the process.
Description:
As a writer on the Design Team, you'll need a deep interest in writing that is concise, considered, and useful. It's your responsibility to craft language our models can both use and learn from, along with guidelines and conversation scripts for different modes. You'll also be an active participant in the design process. You'll be expected to recognize a bad user experience and have the passion and perseverance to create a great one. You'll work with other designers to ensure every element of the experience works together. You'll also work with engineers to deliver on challenging details while thinking through feedback, questioning assumptions, and articulating your point of view. This role also contributes to broader discussions about style and voice across Apple.
Preferred Qualifications:
A portfolio that demonstrates:
Experience writing for conversational interfaces and different modalities.
A deep knowledge of character creation and character-driven writing.
Expertise in leading complex, system-level content design.
A mastery of both high-level, idea-driven thinking as well as a focus on the details such as Voice, Tone, and Style.
An ability to translate complex, technical topics into human language anyone can understand.
An intuition for the craft of design and an appetite for the technical complexity necessary to create something simple.
A dedication to the craft of writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least ten years of experience as a writer.
A broad knowledge of Apple domains, platforms, and approaches.
A deep interest in iterative content design, experimentation, and prototyping.
An ability to understand how the nuances of technical stacks and architecture influence writing and design.
A deep curiosity about technology, data, and the philosophical questions they create. Technically adept with a design-centric mindset.
A willingness to see writing as a team sport.
