ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Description: This is a technical role responsible for managing complex Citrix environments, including design, optimization and supporting Amgen’s Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments across enterprise infrastructure. you will be responsible for designing and implementing information system architectures to support business needs. You will analyze requirements, develop architectural designs, evaluate technology solutions, and ensure alignment with industry best practices and standards. Your expertise in system architecture, strong problem-solving abilities, and ability to communicate complex technical concepts will enable you to deliver robust and scalable IT solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with Citrix ADC (Net Scaler) and Load Balancing technologies, along with a solid understanding of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.

This role is critical to ensuring the stability, performance, and security of Citrix solutions that underpin Amgen’s mission-critical applications and end-user platforms. The Architect will collaborate closely with infrastructure teams, technical leads, and global support teams to deliver highly available, secure, and scalable Virtual Apps and Desktop solutions. This role demands the ability to drive and deliver against key organizational strategic initiatives, foster a collaborative environment, and deliver high-quality results in a matrixed organizational structure. Please note, this is an on-site role based in Hyderabad.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Own and manage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops infrastructure, ensuring performance, availability, and compliance
• Maintain the health and resiliency of Citrix environments including Citrix Cloud and Citrix ADC (Net Scaler)
• Design and support Net Scaler ADC/Gateway solutions
• Implement GSLB, content switching, and traffic management
• Configure SSL offloading, TCP optimisation
• Configure Citrix Net Scaler appliances and virtual instances
• Set up HA and failover mechanisms
• Monitor performance using tools like Wireshark and Net Scaler Console
• Perform patching, updates, and system upgrades in line with enterprise change management policies
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving Citrix, user sessions, and backend integration
• Serve as the technical escalation point for Citrix-related issues within IT operations
• Document all configurations, SOPs, and architecture decisions to support audits and operational continuity
• Automate administrative and operational tasks using PowerShell, Ansible and Citrix SDKs for provisioning, reporting, and cleanup
• Collaborate with project and security teams to support deployments, audits, and lifecycle initiatives
• Mentor support teams and transfer knowledge to ensure consistent support coverage
• Monitor system alerts, identify systemic issues, and implement long-term corrective actions
• Configure Citrix Net Scaler appliances and virtual instances
• Set up HA and failover mechanisms
• Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's OR Master's degree with 8 - 13 + years of experience

Functional Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in designing, managing, and supporting enterprise-scale Citrix environments, including hands-on expertise with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix ADC (Net Scaler), and Citrix Cloud administration and architecture
• Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V or AHV
• Expert in Core networking knowledge (TCP/IP, NAT, VLANs, VPNs)
• Expertise in Net Scaler CLI/NITRO API and GUI
• Content switching, SSL offloading, and authentication integration
• Experience implementing patch management, monitoring, and resiliency testing
• Familiarity with security best practices for virtual environments
• Strong diagnostic and log analysis skills
• Strong Scripting Skills (PowerShell & Python)

• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Azure Administrator (preferred)
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) (preferred)

Shift Information:

This position requires you to be onsite and participate in 24/5 and weekend on call in rotation fashion and may require you to work a later shift. Candidates must be willing and able to work off hours, as required based on business requirements.
